Please pray for us. Joel was admitted to the hospital on Saturday to the Pediatric unit for a cellulitis of the outer ear, external otitis (ear infection of the canal), ruptured ear drum and media otitis (ear infection). He is still haveing fevers to 103 after 24 hours of IV antibiotics, so the antibiotics were changed and we will be there til Tuesday, if not longer. We hope to have him home for Christmas day. Gin is staying with him at the hospital and not getting much sleep. Joel's pain isn't well controlled, despite codeine, toradol and tylenol. We may add some ativan tonight to help him relax. He hasn't got any appetite, and the antibiotics have given him diarrhea. We are praying that these antibiotis work to get rid of this nasty infection and that he doesn't develop an infection in the bones of his ear. We are so grateful to our care group for taking such good care of us...buying us groceries and making us dinner! We are truly blessed to have such a family in Christ. Sorry to be so brief, but I am home only to shower, pack and head back! We hope and pray you are all having a wonderful Christmas season. We have been driven back to the reality that Jesus IS the reason for the season, that His grace is sufficient and that we are to turn our eyes upon Him for all of our needs, wants and desires. He IS in control. And we will rest on His promises.
Blessings,
Gin
