God has been answering prayers for us in a tremendous way.
dave has been getting more clients as of late, and is *gulp* behind because of my work schedule. see, while i am at work, it is nearly impossible for him to get any work done because of all the kids. especially jeffrey. he is at that age where he likes to get into anything he isn’t supposed to and he is incredibly quiet about it.
incredibly.
he is going to give us both more gray hairs than the rest of them combined.
his favorite thing is the toilet and bathroom trashcan!
but i digress…
so, dave and i have been praying about a way for me to cut my hours at work.
this poses all sorts of problems, you know, pay cut, benefits, etc.
just a few weeks ago, a friend of mine who is also a nurse told me about a job at her place of employment, a hospice group. it was an on call, part time, night shift position.
i would be working thursday and friday nights, 5p-8am, from home. i just take calls, triage them, and make home visits as necessary to evaluate patients in need.
wow. sounded good, but i wasn’t sure if i would be a good fit for this type of nursing. i am used to my ER, with lots of bells and whistles and, you know, technology at my fingertips. so i went in to talk with one of the administrative staff to see if they even wanted me to apply.
they did.
i did.
i interviewed that friday and got a job offer that afternoon.
i took it!
i turned in my notice this past monday. my ER managers weren’t too happy, but, my family comes first. i know it is the right move for us.
i start orientation on the 18th. i go to PRN status in the ER on the 16th.
very, very excited! and a huge answer to prayer for both dave and me.
